The Voice of Liberty
Libertas Male Choir
LIBERTAS TOUR CELEBRATIONS
Libertas Male choir, directed by world renowned musician, Martin Mans from The Netherlands, is now in its fourth season. We have recently presented our second annual Christmas sing along concert series. We were blessed with full churches and audiences in all venues were eager to celebrate and share in the joy of the season through music and song together with us.
The Libertas Male Choir invites you once again, to join them for a day trip to Toronto. As Canadians, throughout this coming year, we will be celebrating our Nation's 150th Anniversary. In honour and recognition of this event, our choir will be on tour to Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, Peterborough and Durham from June 3 - 10, 2017. We have invited several of our friends from the Netherlands to join us for this celebration! Along with our director, Martin Mans, Martin Zonnenberg will accompany the choir. As well, flutist, Marjolein de Wit and Bass soloist,Jan Scheper, from the Urker Mans Formatie will complete our musical ensemble! Together with our choir, these musicians will indeed be a pleasure to listen to!
Our premier concert for this series is on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Metropolitan United Church, downtown Toronto. With the success of our day trip last June, we plan to offer a bus trip, luncheon cruise and evening concert again this year. After the cruise, we will be visiting Ripleys Aquarium together which will leave just a short time frame for you to find a light supper around Younge St./Eaton Centre before making your way to the church for the evening concert.
We look forward to travelling with you again and hope that you will invite others to come along as well! The cost for the day inclusive of all venues is $135 per person. Reserve your spot soon to ensure you can be a part of this day!

What better time than now to finally make that decision, 2017 CANADAS 150th! We invite you to join, for a reduced membership rate, for the first half of 2017, if you wish! It would be our hope that you soon feel at home with our choir under the world class leadership of Martin Mans! New faces and more voices to Libertas are always most welcome. We hope that you would continue to rehearse and sing with us through the 2017 Fall and Christmas seasons. Looking further ahead into 2018, plans are being made for a trip to The Netherlands to sing with some of Martins other Male Choirs in beautiful cathedrals throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.
So much to take in, but we do hope to make this an event filled year for Libertas and all who we cross paths with along the way!

2018 European Tour
Martin Mans, has invited Libertas to join with several of his other choirs in The Netherlands for an event filled tour in April/May of 2018. Imagine 250 voices together singing in the most beautiful cathedrals throughout The Netherlands and abroad. Specific details are currently being ironed out and will be made available as soon as they have been finalized.
Furthermore, in the fall of 2018, we plan to welcome back the Urker Mans Formatie to Canada. Also under the direction of Martin Mans, the professional voices of the men of UMF are a true delight to listen to! Do check our website often to be updated on this and all of our upcoming plans.
New members are always welcome, full time, or for special events and tours.
The Libertas Male choir membership currently stands at 65, and new members are always welcome. Music can be studied at home using the Noteworthy computer program and MP3 CDs. Home studying music gives members the opportunity to have less rehearsals and travel time while still ensuring that each member knows his part. We have approximately ten rehearsals per year at Rehoboth Canadian Reformed Church, 1225 Dundas Street, Burlington On., and the dates will be posted on this site 60 days in advance.
Our 2017 fall schedule will be filled with preparations for our Christmas sing along concerts and 2018 tour with local concerts.
